Have been rough since my last blog.
I constantly have something to do for school, whether it is reading or having to do an online quiz/test, or some homework. I'll admit I am glad to be back in school, but it's hard. I am pretty sure it is the school because they do have high expectations here.
When I dont have homework, I either watch TV or play a video game of some sort. I tend to just do nothing-which sometimes is nice. But I at the same time I feel like I am waisting away my life. I want to start getting involved-because that is what college life is all about. But I have a hard time getting to know people and I can be quite shy when it comes to group situations. Since I have been in school for about a month, I have made only 1 friend. (on my own-I have made friends w/ Ty's friends) And she is great! But I feel it is important to make this school process "easier" I should get involved-join clubs/organizations.
Tomorrow there is a first meeting for a group called SCAEYC (South Carolina Association for the Education of Young Children) and the first day a teacher will come in and talk about the first couple days as a teacher. I think that would be AWESOME to go to and learn about stuff like that. So my mission for my next blog will be about the process of attending this meeting and writing on my experience! I wont fail you!
There is also a volunteer opportunity called ClemsonLIFE. Clemson has a program that has students with disabilities who take one class at Clemson and then take life classes (like learning how to write cks and how to pay bills online, prepares them for life on their own, etc) These students are my age and are here trying to gain the same experience. I think this is such an amazing thing. I am wanting to join for 2 reasons. ONE I would get extra credit for my intro to special ed class and TWO I think it would be a awesome experience to get to know these students! So this is another opportunity to get involved!
Finally there is this other opportunity: studying abroad in Italy! AHHH wouldnt that be awesome!? The only thing stopping me is the cost. It cost $2600 just for the program, but you also have to pay for flight ticket and tuition! so you are looking around $8000-$10,000!! ugh... This would look really amazing on a job application and I feel like I shouldnt turn this opportunity down. Which is why I must come up with a plan to get the money! lol.
Well I have class in 15 mins so I must go... Until my next blog (which will be about my experience at the meeting)
xoxo
(sorry for errors-didnt have time to look over it!)

The Beginning
Hey!!
Whew, my first blog. How exciting! I never thought I would do this only because I dont like talking about myself! BUT I dont think that's what a blog is. I believe a Blog is sharing everyday situations, problems, stories, moments, memories and most importantly sharing feelings to anyone who wants to read about them. It makes me a little nervous because maybe my blogs wont spark interest to some... thats okay! I dont expect everyone to be like OH YEAH... this is awesome to read. So I decided that out of all of this:
I hope to vent and release any stress by writing these blogs and if at any point during this adventure someone likes what I write or share comments with me, that would be awesome!
I want to summarize my life in a very short paragraph to update you... to how I got... where I am today. (i hope that makes sense) I am engaged to my high school sweetheart Ty Taylor-we started dating our sophomore year in high school. (mishawaka high school) we both went to IUSB-both went for 3 yrs there. Ty transferred to Ball State University and graduated w/ geological sciences. (GO TY!) and I intended to take a semester off. When I did this, I had to pay back my student loan for that semester before I could go back. This kind of thing ruined me, because I really wanted to graduate college and I was already on the slow track to graduating. SO I did pay back my student loan... it did take a year and a half but I did it making min. wage! What next? I was determined to go back to school. BUT the big question was WHERE ?!
Ty proposed to me on Christmas morning 2008 (WHOA WHO!) and it was the happiest moment of my life! We didnt have a date set for a really long time because our future was so unpredictable. Ty was waiting to hear from graduate schools. Ty got an email from CLEMSON (on april 1-go figure lol), accepting him into not only grad school, but he received a teaching assistantship! (school pays him-he teaches geology labs) When not getting a lot of answers from other schools he decided on CLEMSON! SO... my next move?
I applied to Clemson and was accepted on May 14th! One of my greatest accomplishments! (getting into Clemson is a whole story itself-but maybe brought up in a future blog!)
SO here we are today. Ty and I live in Central, (which is like 2 mins away from Clemson) South Carolina.
It has been 3 weeks since we both started school...its challenging! All of this is new to us and I think we are adapting well.
Finally, we got to set a date for our wedding. January 1, 2011 (1/1/11) I think its the coolest date ever! haha :)
now that I said all that... I can begin this thing called "blogging"
